Dumped trolley Snaps triple in four years

Abandoned shopping trolleys are no longer just a weekend eyesore; they’ve become a full-blown national issue.

As reported by Yahoo News Australia, more than 136,000 dumped trolleys have been reported across the country so far in 2025. That number’s expected to hit 164,000 by year’s end, which is triple what it was just four years ago.

And the problem isn’t confined to supermarket carparks. Trolleys are turning up in creeks, backstreets, waterways and bushland; damaging the environment and costing councils millions to collect and repair.

The numbers in the article come directly from Snap Send Solve reports. Victoria leads the nation, with over 56,000 trolley Snaps already this year, followed by New South Wales and Western Australia.

Our CEO Danny Gorog put it simply:

“Every trolley left behind impacts our communities and the environment. We’re asking Australians to help by reporting abandoned trolleys with Snap Send Solve so they can be quickly returned to retailers and put back into use.”

It’s a simple way to make a visible difference and help clean up your neighbourhood while you’re at it.
