Snap Send Solve went primetime. Our CEO, Danny Gorog, sat down with A Current Affair to talk about a big year for Snappers, with nearly 2 million reports sent across Australia and plenty of surprises along the way.
Some of those surprises came along for the ride. Danny brought a few show-and-tell items, including a dentist’s chair dumped in a car park (no appointment, no receptionist, just a chair with a view of the bins), an apparently abandoned hearse parked on a suburban street, and a boat in remarkably good nick for something nobody seemed to want. As Danny put it, “We’ve seen lots of weird stuff.”
Victoria alone has sent in 160,000 dumped rubbish reports this year, and potholes are on the rise there too, up 92% on this time last year. Nationwide, Snappers sent in 185,000 abandoned trolley reports in the past 12 months.
Danny’s verdict? “That’s a lot of trolleys.”
Those reports don’t only go to councils. Telcos, electricity and water companies and the major supermarkets are also on the receiving end, so a photo of a stray trolley or a damaged pole can head straight to whoever looks after it.
If you spot something that doesn’t belong, whether it’s a pothole, a pile of rubbish or a hearse, just Snap, Send, Solve it.
