Every day, Solvers receive multiple requests about the same issue, like dumped rubbish, overgrown vegetation or graffiti. These duplicates might seem minor, but they add up quickly, creating avoidable admin, increasing contractor tasks, and muddying the data you rely on to make decisions.
That’s why we built our Duplicate Detection Algorithm, a tool that automatically compares new requests against recent submissions and uses AI-powered analysis to identify matches with over 95% confidence.
The result is fewer repeat jobs, cleaner data and real savings.
For one large metro council, that duplication rate could translate to $1.2 million in potential annual savings, simply by reducing repeated waste requests.
Our Duplicate Detection Algorithm helps your team focus on what still needs Solving, not what’s already in progress.
Here’s how it delivers meaningful value across key service areas:
Duplicate requests often result in unnecessary work orders, especially for issues like dumped rubbish, graffiti or deceased animals. By flagging these before they reach your system, we help reduce job volume and avoid repeat charges from contractors.
When requests surge, during storms, events or seasonal issues, customer service teams can get overwhelmed managing the same issue more than once. Our Duplicate Detection Algorithm filters out repeated requests before they reach your team, helping you stay focused on what still needs attention.
When duplicates are deflected at the source, your data becomes more accurate and useful. You’ll have a more accurate view of what’s really happening on the ground, from identifying persistent hotspots to measuring true demand across service types.
Enabled, our Duplicate Detection Algorithm works in the background without changing your existing workflows.
When a Snapper starts a request in the Snap Send Solve app or webform, the detection algorithm automatically checks for similar ones nearby. The Snapper will see up to three potential matches and can confirm whether their issue has already been submitted. If confirmed, no new request is created. Instead, a deflection is recorded.
This gives you fewer duplicate requests to manage, more accurate contractor tasking and a cleaner dataset, all with no extra effort.
The feature works with both public and non-public requests, even those that have been marked as closed.
No personal Snapper information is ever shown, only the photo, location and timestamp of the matched request to help guide accurate matching.
75% of surveyed Solvers said this feature would be very valuable to their workflows, especially in reducing admin load and improving triage accuracy.

We’ll run a free analysis of your Snap Send Solve reports and share your duplication percentage, matched with AI accuracy. You’ll see how many issues could be deflected and get a greater understanding of what that means for time saved and costs avoided.
