We’ve collaborated with Quit Victoria to call on you to ‘Snap’ cigarette waste in our streets, parks and beaches.
By uploading a photo of cigarette butts, discarded e-cigarettes and packaging litter, you’ll help us understand hot spots.
A few facts:
- Cigarette butts account for 30 to 40% of all items collected in coastal and urban clean-ups
- Cigarette butts have been found inside dead fish and birds
- Discarded e-cigarettes and cigarette butts can leach chemicals into soil and water and kill plants and wildlife
- E-cigarettes cannot be recycled
Start Snapping and help Quit Victoria advocate for action to reduce the damage to environment and wildlife caused by cigarettes and e-cigarettes.
Please don’t take photographs of people smoking or vaping, or of people selling cigarettes or e-cigarettes.
